SharePoint 2010 creating a vibrant culture and competitive advantage.
When Oakton wanted to address their need for real-time collaboration and information sharing via a secure and private company wide information platform, the solution was a SharePoint 2010 platform now known as “ozone”.
It allows Oakton staff from different  teams to be constantly connected, and communicating across functional and location boundaries to solve the more complex problems.
The solution is mobile enabled and already noticeable positive results are being delivered as this new way of working drives greater engagement, participation and social interaction.

It allows new staff as much as long standing teams to capitalise on Oakton’s collective intelligence. With over 1100 staff in Australian and 160 in India, Ozone has proven to be improving the quality and timeliness of information.
This presentation will show a live demonstration and provide supporting ROI for the solution.

Customer and Partner portals with SharePoint 2010
Organisational portals are likely to be a key investment for many organisations over the next two to three years.  In the same way that customers now expect all banks to provide a banking portal site, customers will increasingly expect all organisations to provide access to internal functions of an organisation.
In addition partner portals - for example external contractors such as electricians, plumbers, architects, town planners - will expect to be able to easily engage with one another in order to streamline communications and project management about an organisation's project.

This session is designed to demonstrate how this functionality can be provided, and how it's possible to solve common problems such as security and authorisation, internal social features such microblogging, expertise discovery and notifications among other features.  A number of Microsoft and partner technologies are covered.

Bringing SharePoint lists to life - Dashboards at Hancock Coal (GVK)
Too often, the data in a SharePoint list is simply reproduced as a boring old table of numbers.  Working with Hancock Coal recently on a solution to manage a large scale project I used XSLT and a little bit of JQuery to really go that bit further and turn a list and a view into a mini application.

If you are a project manager or business person who wants to see what can be achieved, or a consultant or developer who wants to learn more about these powerful tools then come along and bring some life to your SharePoint lists.
